Interested in an internship or career in the sports industry? Representatives from eight firms will be available to students of all majors Tuesday, Oct. 28, beginning at 1:30 p.m. at Lowder Hall in our Sports Forum and Job Expo.

Who’s coming? ESPN/SEC Network, Coca-Cola, City of Auburn, IMG Sports Network, Montgomery Biscuits, Southeastern Junior Golf Tour, Syracuse University Athletic Department, and the Auburn University Athletics Department/Compliance.

Sponsored by Harbert College’s Office of Professional and Career Development and Auburn Tiger Career Center, the sports forum will feature a job expo, where students can mingle with firm representatives and get a better understanding of their organizations, followed by interactive employer roundtables. The roundtables will address the following points:

  • Explain who they are and what they do
  • Discuss what opportunities are available to students
  • Talk about the skills their respective organizations need
  • Discuss the challenges their respective organizations face
  • Explain how they network / hire
  • Take questions

The expo, from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., will be on the Ground Floor of Lowder Hall. The employer roundtables will be divided into two 45-minute segments, starting at 3:30 p.m. in Lowder 026 and Lowder 124.

“This is an initial effort to help students learn about opportunities in the sports industry, to learn about the career paths of current professionals, and to hear about how these firms source of talent,” said Office of Professional and Career Development Executive Director Jimmy Lawrence.
